In a world filled with stress and pressure to perform, anxiety about cultural expectations, and depression from being isolated to a screen, the culture in America is killing our teenagers from the inside out. We aim to provide hope and inspiration by taking the Hope of Christ to Every Student. We want to provide teens a place to belong, opportunities to make a positive difference, and bring life-changing transformation to their life and those around them. Our core focus is to help 300,000 students in 4,650 different schools experience the hope of Christ by December 31, 2023. This podcast is part of our strategy to get the word out to the believers of Jesus in the United States to help encourage, equip, and empower Christian students to share their hope in Christ with their peers. Decatur board member, Larry Waye, shares a challenging message during a recent FP training.
Larry Waye was saved as a child, surrendered to the call of God to vocational ministry in 1970, was licensed to preach in 1972, and ordained in 1976. He has ministered in churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, and New York, before moving to Alabama.
Larry and Cheryl Waye joined the Decatur Baptist Church pastoral staff in 2005, relocating from Rochester, NY where Larry had ministered for 22 years at the First Bible Baptist Church.
At Decatur Baptist, Larry served as Pastor of Adult Ministries for 5 1/2 years before leaving the staff under the Lord’s leadership to minister to the community at large through the Decatur Morgan Count Entrepreneurial Center, a non-profit economic development organization that he helped start.
In the fall of 2019, he returned to the staff of Decatur Baptist Church and currently oversees the Edify and Equip Ministries.

Brent Crowe is a thought-provoking visionary and communicator who has a passion to present the life changing message of the gospel. Brent uses humor and real-life situations to relate to people at the heart of their struggles. The roles of husband, father, minister, evangelist, author and leader have allowed Brent to influence people from all walks of life throughout his twenty years in ministry.
He is also the author of Ten Steps to Your Best Life, Philippians Bible Study, Moments ‘til Midnight, Sacred Intent: Maximize the Moments of Your Life, Reimagine: What the World Would Look Like If God Got His Way, Chasing Elephants: Wrestling with the Gray Areas of Life, the Associate Editor of IMPACT, The Student Leadership Bible and the co-author of The Call.
Brent Crowe is married to Christina and has six children, Gabe, Charis, Za’Riah, Mercy, Zi’Yon and Aryanna. He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy and two masters degrees, a Masters of Divinity in Evangelism and a Masters of Arts in Ethics, from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

FP Podcast hosts Steve Cherrico and Brad Schelling talk with Ben Trueblood, the Director of Student Ministry for Lifeway Christian Resources. Ben has twenty years of student ministry experience, fourteen of which were spent in the local church as a student pastor. In addition to his role at Lifeway Ben is involved in training, consulting, and speaking to student ministries throughout the U.S.
He is the author of three books: A Different College Experience, Within Reach, and Student Ministry That Matters, and is the host of The Student Ministry Podcast by Lifeway. Ben has also recently started a YouTube channel aimed at encouraging and investing in fellow youth pastors.
Ben is driven by a desire for student ministries to expand God’s Kingdom, to see the lives of students transformed by the gospel, and to develop students who shape the culture in which they live.
Ben and his wife Kristen have four children. In his free time Ben enjoys family, hunting, is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, and is a collector of hobbies.

Larry Franks is the Executive Director of FP Decatur, AL and also serves as the Director of Expansion and Training for First Priority of America. His heart’s passion is to see students come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, and for them to realize that there is HOPE. Larry has enjoyed watching God grow First Priority in Morgan and Lawrence counties from its beginning in 2009 on 18 campuses to currently being on 54 campuses. There have been over 4,800 students say YES to the HOPE of Christ on the public school campus over the last 9 years. Larry was recently awarded the Lynn C Fowler Non-Profit Professional of the Year by the Decatur-Morgan Chamber of Commerce. First Priority of Greater Decatur was also awarded the Non-Profit of the Year by the Decatur City School System. Clothe Our Kids received the Non-Profit of the Year by the Decatur City School System in 2019. Larry is married to Jessica (33 years) and has two daughters, Chelsea (27) and Hannah (21). He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
